The company was named 2003’s “Launch of the Year” by the shoe industry’s leading trade publication, Footwear News, which also identified it as a hot brand to watch. KEEN’s shoes are now available in more than a thousand retail locations in the United States, are distributed worldwide, and available online worldwide.

The Challenge

Working together, KEEN Footwear and AAXIS Commerce identified a big opportunity to drive new, incremental traffic to their site, which was part of a larger plan to help strengthen their brand across all retailers, deepen their community of followers, and tell a more comprehensive story about their award winning products. As part of their overall growth strategy, KEEN Footwear partnered with AAXIS Commerce to launch a comprehensive Search Engine Optimization initiative. In addition to SEO, KEEN also partnered with AAXIS Commerce to define an online growth strategy aimed at optimizing both online acquisition while mitigating channel conflict.

The Solution & Results


By implementing a number of key changes identified by both KEEN and AAXIS, KEEN increased e-commerce sales by nearly 30% in the first three months.
